Canterbury Theatre Guild proudly Presents Stephen Sondheim’s FOLLIES July 2005 production staged at Bankstown Town Hall Theatre Considered by some to be the greatest musical ever written, ‘Follies’ is a tour de force of song and dance. The quintessential American musical, it is a story of broken dreams, lost loves and bitter regret. The score by Sondheim and book by James Goldman creates a cinematic, dreamlike illusion of past and present blended together, employing classic musical theatre pastiche to tell not only the story of Ben, Phyllis, Sally and Buddy -- but also how our memories shape and blur the realities of the past, and the present. Featuring some of Stephens Sondheim’s greatest music, with songs such as Broadway Baby, Losing My Mind and I’m Still Here. This production requires performers of all ages and features several characters, both men and women over the age of 50. If you’re a dancer who doesn’t sing or singer who doesn’t dance, or singer who does dance – we need you all. Features several small but very important cameo roles as well that require very strong singers/actors. Open Dance Call Sat 5th March. 1pm Ashbury Senior Citizens Centre. Princess St Canterbury.
