Auditions for 'Eurobeat - the Eurovision Musical'
The Glynn Nicholas Group is holding auditions for it's upcoming production of EUROBEAT (by Craig Christie and Andrew Patterson).
12 Countries go head to head, battling in song and dance to win the coveted EUROBEAT AWARD.
Inevitably to be confused with the Eurovision Song Contest -except these guys know they're hilarious. The best of EUROVISION squeezed into 90 mins of comedy concentrate. It's a musical banquet, a glamourfest, it's a beautifully-executed piss-take of the Eurovision Song Contest.
Twenty performers (who would appear to take this whole thing very seriously) sing and dance their cleverly-written and expertly executed songs. They whip the audience into a frenzy with twelve original songs, exciting backing vocals and solid-gold-styled-hard-bodied dancing. They all ooze a sex appeal that says to the audience "give generously" and of course that Eurovision art form - the REVEAL. It takes a lot of talent to look so, well, Eurovision.
As one reviewer put so astutely "&the night is a toe-tapping, gut-wrenching, nausea-inducing gag fest at the expense of a whole pile of countries that have enough problems without us making fun of them. But screw it."
