So what’s EUROBEAT (ALMOST EUROVISION) all about?

EUROBEAT (ALMOST EUROVISION) is a glorious tribute to the Eurovision Song Contest.

Just think mini-Eurovision Song Contest, but set in sunny, safe, secure Sarajevo. Competitors from 12 countries compete to win the audience’s approval and be the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest… and the audience get to vote for their favourite country. There could be a different winner every night!. . It is high energy, fast and very, very funny.

After interval (while the votes are being tallied) the audience will marvel at the glorious half time Bosnian spectacular, featuring hostess Bronya singing “I’m Sarajevo, taste me” (described by one reviewer as a masterpiece, so there you go). Then the countdown begins, magically crossing to various countries for the voting, to find the eventual winner.

So where and when are the auditions being held?

This Saturday March 10 between 10:00 am and 02:00 pm at UTAS Annex Theatre, Inveresk Railyards.


What is the audition format?

You can audition individually or as a pre-formed group. Bring a song to sing which suits your voice, and talent, and dress for dancing.


We’re looking for funky dancers, boy band wannabes, pop star idols and all-round actor/singer/dancers who want to have a rage on stage.

When is EUROBEAT (ALMOST EUROVISION) ON STAGE?

The show will be on during the last week in September 2007 at The Princess Theatre.

Rehearsals will start July.
