Blood Brothers, the worldwide hit musical, tells the story of twins separated at birth and the fateful, inevitable paths their lives seem destined to take. Blood Brothers has swept the world with its warmth, humour and tragedy, making it a favourite with all that see it. For the Launceston Musical Society’s production of Blood Brothers we require a small cast of 14 - 18 (6 - 8 Female, 8 - 10 Male), made up of strong actors and singers. The power of the piece rests on strong performers with the ability to handle a fast paced and dramatic book. With the exception of some lead characters, all cast members will be required to play many parts throughout, from children through to adults and everything in between, making this an ensemble cast in every sense of the word. Well the auditions are over and the waiting begins. There may be some call backs for some roles. Listening to the group sing at the movement audition was interesting. The women in particular are very strong - the guys not so, but we were outnumbered about 3 to 1. The panel are going to have a tough job cutting down the numbers. Special mention of Juliane de Sisto and Tessa Dunstan who sang part of a song from the show in front of everyone. Both were stunning! Quite different takes on the song but equally breathtaking! I've a good feeling this is going to be a brilliant show. Buff

I've heard that there are some call backs scheduled for Wednesday night. Other than that I've heard nothing else. Buff

I was half right - there are call backs but they are not until next weekend, which means it won't be until the middle of next week before the cast is announced. Buff

Have heard unconfirmed reports that Tessa Dunstan and Julianne de Sisto have been offered Mrs Johnstone and Mrs Lyons respectively. Haven't heard anything official but that's the "word on the street". Will no doubt find out at first rehearsal on 17 December. Buff
