Yes, it's that time of year again. Carols are coming up (in a month tomorrow for Domain) soon, and cast lists are being assembled. So does anyone have any idea who's going to be in either concert? Carols in the Domain's cast list was supposed to be announced in early November, and Carols by Candlelight tickets are on sale already, so I'm trying to keep my eyes open, but no luck. Although I'm fairly certain I can guess a fair few performers.

Although I'm fairly certain I can guess a fair few performers. Surely you can't be suggesting that carols have become in any way predictable. I'm shocked. James

Not at all! I'd never suggest such a thing! Actually, I was just referring to the couple of regulars, who I expect will be back this year, and none of whom I wouldn't like to see return. (This is ignoring the "popular" people, who I tend to pretend aren't there at all) For instance, if being a day away from labour can't keep Marina Prior away, I'd say it's fairly safe to say she'll be there

Okay, Carols in the Domain list of performers still hasn't been announced (Early November indeed!) despite it being less than three weeks away, but I've heard that Ian Stenlake and Rachael Beck will most likely be involved. Keeping my ears out for more, of course.

Ian and Rachael love Carols in the Domain We'll most likely have the cast of WWYY or TLK this year, since both are still on in Sydney

Ian and Rachael love Carols in the Domain I can't imagine why. Judging from last year, it's awfully unflattering. Or was last year just particularly bad? *wince* (Not especially at WWRY or TLK, more lack of anything at all in Melbourne now) But just glanced at Domain website, and surprise surprise... "This year's line up will be announced at the beginning of December." Folks, you have less than three weeks to go. Get a move on.

lol they've just managed to secure it to make it free yet again this year (they were going to charge people to attend) so my guess is they're still trying to finalise who will be in Sydney, etc. Can we please steal Tamsin for them - she gets to go to Brisbane next week for Spirit of Christmas *sigh* why couldn't she do that in Syd? Last year was definitely a bad year to judge by - in terms of performances - in terms of crowd it was enormous because it was actually a nice night! The best year was 1997 - when Hugh, Rachael and co all performed

A nice night? I distinctly remember rain, because Todd made a comment about singing in the rain, and there were girls slipping over on the wet stage.
But it felt as though there were sound issues, because many people who I know are good (and sounded better in Candlelight) sounded less than wonderful, and poor Todd did seem to be rather straining.

Okay wait a sec - getting the years mixed up.... I didn't tape last year's one - I taped all the other years *g* I thought the Singin' in the Rain comment was the year before - because Rachael and Ian were doing Cabaret in 2003. One year it was absolutely pouring - one year they had fantastic weather. Luckily all the times I went it didn't rain (or at least held off till I got on the train!) There were sound issues last year - I do remember that much

From today's Herald Sun; not going to post the entire article here because it's mostly irrelevant, but in The Eye it mentions Andrew O'Keefe will be at Domain, singing a "jazzed up, bossanova" version of Mary's Boy Child. So there's one at least for the line-up

As long as Kane Alexander is performing at one of the Carols services, I will be very happy.
I know that Rob "Millsy" Mills is performing at Carols By Candlelight, though I missed that song he will be singing (millsy, how great ...)
Casey Donovan will most likely be singing at one of the carols, as Guy Sebastian sung last year

Millsy? Colour me sarcastically thrilled. Looks like the carols and rehearsal will be filled with teenfans again if that's the case. Hopefully not as many as last year, although it was nice when they all left after Guy sang. Pity that was so late. And gee, Kane has so much on his plate at the moment that I'm not certain he'd be able to fit that in ~Julia Someone make me lay off the sarcasm. I think it's the three hours of sleep that's doing it.

Read this afternoon in the Herald Sun that Paulini, Human Nature, Millsy and the cast of Saturday Night Fever are confined for Carols By Candlelight.
(thank god, someone else shares my 'excitement' *cough* for Millsy)

Sounds like it's going to be a wonderful night this year. At least Paulini isn't too awful. Now, if Eureka was still open things would be looking much brighter Ah well, we can hope for Kane and Marina's usual offerings at least. Silvie will probably be back from Singapore by then, too, so they'll still be able to do The Prayer.

Add Kate Ceberano and Rhonda Burchmore to the Candlelight list.
