Anthony Warlow was on GMA this morning and he mentioned Opera Australia will be doing Pirates next year with himself and David Hobson. Sounds good

I could have sworn we had a thread, too. I'll have a look... It might have gone, though?

The advertising for this production is so wonderfully appropriate. ClickAnd the media release, which amuses me in places. Click

It's about time SOMEONE came to Canberra... Finally I'll be able to sleep all day, take my time getting ready and then going off to the show rather than a five am get up and a four - seven hour drive... It is strange they aren't going to Melbourne though. The big shows always go to Sydney and Melbourne (and Anthony Warlow is big in my books )

What I'm guessing is that they haven't been able to get hold of the State Theatre yet (After all, look at all the people wanting it! TPC, OA, ballet, random concerts, whatever the summer musical ends up being), so don't want to announce anything, but I wouldn't be surprised to see this put with OA's autumn season. But of course, they can't announce what they don't yet know. Welcome to the board, Briar, and I look forward to hearing what you think of Pirates, you lucky thing
