I wish I could come, but I live in Arizona and very much doubt my parents would let me travel to Australia. Tell me how it goes!

Trust me, you'll hear all about it. I feel sorry for the poor people who are reading my rehearsal diary on my LJ. (Those who haven't given up by now, that is) ~Julia

I'm in the play Pinocchio right now so as soon as we start the performances I will tell you all about it. It is a really funny play.

Who are you in Les Miserables?

I'm just in the ensemble. The role I'm dying to play is Fantine, but because it's a community production, I'm too young, and I'm not vocally ready yet.

Cool part! Some times I think it's easier to be in the ensemble in shows. When I was in Little Shop of Horrors, I was in the chorus and I barely had to be at rehearsals but I had a lot of fun characters to play. Then again I like being a support or lead because you get to be on stage more. Do you like being in the ensemble more? I do.

Well, Les Mis is a very ensemble-oriented show, especially if you're a guy, because then you get all the barricade scenes too. I must say that if I was going to be in ensemble for any show, I'm glad it's this one. Also, because there are so many different settings, we get to play such a wide range of characters that it's an excellent experience.
As for the number of rehearsals, we get as many as, and even more than some of the leads, especially Cosette and the children. Valjean's always there, of course, but most of the rest of us have a fairly equal amount of rehearsal time.

There was one musical I was in, Meet Me In. St. Louis where I was one of the leads and the chorus had more rehearsals than us, but then again there were about 35 chorus members. That was the one play I was glad I was a lead. All the others I wish I were chorus.

It really does depend what show. Being in the ensemble of Phantom wouldn't be particularly fun...you'd barely be on stage and when you were singing it was behind the curtain, the creepy voices of the theme song or something.
We did BIG, cheesyest musical ever written, but there were ALOT of ensemble scenes, and therefore rehersals. That was a great production though, if you have friends in it it makes all the difference!

I don't know about you, Liz, but I absolutely thrive on rehearsals. It absolutely destroys my social life, but if I miss any rehearsals, I'm wilting until the next one.
The only reason I'd like to be in the ensemble for PotO would be because it is PotO, and being involved in that in the tiniest way would be wonderful, especially in a professional production. You'd have to be able to dance, though. Drat. Foiled again.

Your famous!!! *blush* Well, I'd hope I'd be in the cast list (seeing as I am part of the cast ) It is nice seeing my name there, especially when I go to other theatre companies' websites, and see familiar names from my cast in the lists from previous productions. ~Julia

Lol, musical groupies. "We're not groupies, we're band aids! (Or Broadwayaids in our case, not as cool though) I suppose technically you have the right to be slightly miffed if they didn't put you up, lol, if they remembered everyone but Julia. Still, I was kind of excited!
