lmao regarding the MFM comment - you know what until this year it was one of the Shakespeare plays I hadn't studied but I have since read it in preparation for BSC production I promise to read Wicked over the Uni break - got a whole list of books I have to read in the next month - just add it to the list - GM is an awesome writer - I actually brought him up in my English class at Uni a few weeks ago when we were talking about writers and spinning fairytales So yeah I've been a fan of his since at least 2000.

(Any chance you can get down for the 24th too? you can catch KMK as well then.. ) I know nothing about MFM, I'm just gonna go in blind And at least you're not hard to convince to read Wicked - I've managed to convince two other people to read it already - actually, I didn't even have to try and convince them, I just ramble on and on about it so much that they gave up and found the book of their own accord *g*

I've got uni so I can't go on any weekdays, etc *g*
I will be down in Melb I think on August 6 and 27 (different weekends) - one is for MFM (that's if I manage to get down there that day) the other is for the footy *g* But probably won't be down in July.

Nadine, it's the same book that I've been rambling on about on my lj all year and ficcing since February - you MUST read it ;D It's very addictive, and the sequel, 'Son of a Witch', is due out this September too (sadly, if they keep the same release date - the 27th - I'm planning my flight home around it so I can read it on the plane *g*) If you haven't read it by MFM, I'll smack you (or get Julia to, she's violent ) Wait, there's a sequel? How odd. And you have an LJ?

lmao Sally beat me to it. I was just gonna say, you'll slay me if you say you found that link quickly - I forgot it was on his official site so I ended up 7 pages back on my friends page hunting for it! Apparently also, newest editions of Wicked actually have a chapter from Son of a Witch at the back. My god. Would kill for. Mine just has...I think it's a Mirror, Mirror extract - I haven't actually read it yet!

I just typed in www.gregorymaguire.com since I knew that was his official site and it's the main link on it My copy - since it was the first edition of Wicked doesn't have any extracts *sigh* it does however have quotes at the beginning for the acclaim it got and also CotUS

The musical tie-in with pretty pictures ;D But two copies of the same book is a bit much, even for me, so I can hold off. Until the book falls apart, that is Does yours have the readers group questions at the back also? I love those. When I'm bored, I go and read them again...I'm such a nerd I know.

I love those questions - I did the CoaUS one when in 2001 on a train from Venice to Paris - because I had finished the book by that time and thought might as well answer the questions - plus the fact Stockard Channing was in the movie I was trying to breakdown the character, etc

Must find it. Must read the book also - I started once, but it was straight after I'd finished Wicked, and I was pretty much still picking up Wicked to flick through it, so nothing else got a chance

Totally didn't know there was a movie! Must find it.[ It's not available here in Australia - I was lucky that someone taped it for me in the US - then I ended up getting the FYC tape for it anyway so now I have a proper NTSC SP version
