I've been trying to work out what TPC have done each year since they were founded, and I think I've got them all except one. Can someone fill my gap and tell me if I've got anything wrong? 1999: She Loves Me, Funny Girl, Mame 2000: The Music Man, Gypsy, Call Me Madam 2001: Anything Goes, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Mack and Mabel 2002: Guys and Dolls, Hair, Hello Dolly 2003: Bye Bye Birdie, South Pacific, They're Playing Our Song 2004: High Society, Carousel, Annie Get Your Gun And yes, this is all in the aid of speculation Edit: I remembered it. It was Hello Dolly. I knew it would come to me eventually. And that means that they've done all of Ethel Merman's big musicals now, I think...

And that means that they've done all of Ethel Merman's big musicals now, I think... Hehe, that was the first thing I thought of when I saw the list! They still have to do Panama Hattie though, and Red, Hot and Blue In speculating last night I thought of The Music Man too. So that's out. I'm glad to see they haven't done anything which makes me want to cry that I've missed it though. They seem to be getting better year by year Although Call Me Madam and Anything Goes would have been awesome And Girl Crazy! (For the Merman list I mean) Although the first two EM ones would be interesting to see, if only because Ridin' High and You're Throwing A Ball Tonight from HS are originally from those two. OK call me a Porter nut

Guys and Dolls was in 2000. I think Music Man may have been in 2002..... Not sure.
But Guys and Dolls and Call Me Madam were definitely in 2000.

Mel's right I just dug out my Hair prog which has the full TPC list. 2000: Call Me Madam, Gypsy, Guys & Dolls, and The Gilbert & Sullivan Show for the Melbourne Festival 2002: The Music Man, Hello Dolly, and Hair Hair prog also lists leads for each show. Want that extra info added? See who TPC seems to favour

The only person I can think of who keeps coming up in their casting is Marty Fields. I've seen three with him now. (High Society, Anything Goes and South Pacific)
Tamsin has done two of course (HS & Bye Bye Birdie), so have Philip Gould (AG & BBB), Scott Irwin (HS & Annie Get Your Gun) and Marina Prior (Guys & Dolls & AGYG).
And I can think of a few who've done more than one in smaller roles.

So where is our speculation leading us?
Personally I reckon something Rodgers and Hart, say The Boys From Syracuse or Pal Joey. Gigi could be done. Or Wonderful Town or Kiss Me Kate.
I think the best thing they could do would be Merrily We Roll Along. I reckon it suits their style, although they tend to go for the initially more successful works.

Trust me, if they don't do Kiss Me Kate I'll be surprised. Because I've kind of convinced myself that it's the one they are gonna do - either this year or next - just because it ties in so well with what they have done. I would LOVE them do to Wonderful Town! I hadn't seriously thought of that one before. At least not that I can recall. (And I've quite possibly tossed in and out every single musical that has ever been in my "what will TPC do next year?" moments ) State Fair was another that stuck in my head. Other brief moments included On the Town, Calamity Jane (but not so close on AGYG's heels I don't think), Brigadoon, Camelot and Oklahoma. If they can shrink Carousel down to concert-style they can do Oklahoma Some of those I don't care for as much so wouldn't be upset if they didn't do them, so this isn't an "I hope they do such-and-such" list by the way. Although I really WOULD love to see KMK! And have cast it in my mind right down to the smallest roles. Love the mental image of Gary Down and Adam Murphy singing 'Brush Up Your Shakespeare'! ;D I've only seen 4 TPC shows - ok 5 if you count Hair - and have had ensemble members popping up in 3 of those on some occasions They need to get onto a bit more Gershwin in the near future as well. And we can't forget Metro Street!! ETA: Actually now I think about it, at least one person has been in 4 of those 5 ;D

Since Les Mis, Adam Murphy seems to pop up in any show that Gary Young is connected to. As for KMK, he has played Bill before in a NZ production.
I'm going to be in Melbourne for Cyrano and Mamma Mia so I don't suppose TPC could stage their first production in lte March next year? ;D

You're not going to find much in March in Melbourne, I'm afraid But they absolutely must do KMK. Hayden was in that one too, wasn't he? Merrily We Roll Along could be good, too. I can see them doing Sondheim, and surely it's only a matter of time.

Hee, how cute are TPC's Christmas cards?? ;D Sorry, that was just so entirely random.
I want Hayden in my KMK too.

Are you guys talking about Hayden Tee? I met him the other night at a party...really nice guy, GREAT dresser. Sheesh.
Apparently he's directing Godspell in Sydney next year...

That's right, Tim. I saw his cabaret in Melbourne a couple of weeks ago and was immensely impressed.
And yes, he's directing a Godspell workshop along with Andrew Koblar. That would be an absolute blast to do, and such a great opportunity.

Yep! And adorable with the promo pic from each musical on the front. Did you subscribe this year? It's just a "thankyou for your support" etc card sent to all subscribers. Like the cards you get from local member/garbos/plumber etc. But prettier
