I've been contacted by the registered member "theknow". They wanted to clarify that they are not the same person as the "The Know" who is posting as a guest. To the guest "The Know" would you be kind enough to either register or post as a guest under a different name. Thanks! Buff

Seems that Judy and Josh, from their latest update to the PTB website, are doing everything in their power to keep the wounds unhealed. It also seems a little ironic that they condemn others for rumour mongering, when a good portion of their badly-spell-checked statements perpetuate that very thing. Sorry to bring it up Buff & Talissa & all the good people who use this site, but I really couldn't let their spray go without some comment. Apologies if this is not the appropriate forum, but can someone tell me why I should support a group of people (who I did sympathise with) now that they are the ones sticking the boot in? The double-standard (albeit cloaked in "we don't understand, we're very nice and altruistic") boggles the mind. This is all I was wanting to get off my chest and if this post is not appropriate, please take it down. It just makes me sad and angry. Sincerely Not Anyone To Do With It

I read the statements on PTB's website also. While I understand their wish to put their point of view forward, to "go on the attack" (for want of a better way of putting it) seems as if they don't want the controversy to go away. Buff

Onya Not Anything... Just seems like they're raising hell for the sake of it. Their outburst, well-meaning though it is, is not constructive in any any any way. Can't wait to see what they've got cooking for the October new-website-design show. I'm sure it will be exceptional. MB

I couldn't let this thread go for nearly a month without a post! So, coming up from the three community groups we have the following shows: The Anniversary (Lton Players) Stepping in Shadows (PTB) Little Shop of Horrors (LMS) What about next year? As I understand: The Secret Garden (Devonport Choral Society) Crazy for You (LMS) A Chorus Line (PTB) - a believe that is what zipp said in another post Blood Brothers (LMS) Haven't heard anything from Lton Players yet or any of the schools or colleges. Thoughts? Buff

PTB is no longer doing A Chorus Line because we have secured the rights to a much more exciting and promising show ... High School Musical!
I believe Newstead College will be performing Cabaret in April next year.
I know that three groups in the north of the state applied for Blood Brothers. Don't know a lot about it, but I believe it needs some strong male leads.

PTB is no longer doing A Chorus Line because we have secured the rights to a much more exciting and promising show ... High School Musical! There's been a lot of hype about that show. It's a strange one in that it was released as a movie-musical first then transfered to stage. I know that three groups in the north of the state applied for Blood Brothers. Don't know a lot about it, but I believe it needs some strong male leads. The main character are twin brothers (although they don't know it - separated at birth) and their biological mother. Buff

Oh Lana you will come to love it as much as we do.
It's exciting and promising in the way that it's a really fun musical and I know heaps of kids (and older 'kids') will want to be a part of it.
That's about all I know really ... from just reading the synopsis. Plus it's quite new isn't it, and a national premiere?

Well, horses for courses I'm afraid.
I have worked with Danny and I'm afraid the comment about him lacking originality is true. His skill lies in organising, not necessarily directing.
That notwithstanding, I have already purchased my tix for Little Shop and will be there opening night.
In the meantime, I am extremely pleased that High School Musical is going to get a run. Ok... it's not Sondheim but it does have what many shows do not. It has MASS APPEAL. And that is what puts bums on seats and $$ in the coffers to keep our local groups alive.
