As the subject suggests, this is a post asking which shows you've done and what your involvement was. I'm doing Les Mis at the moment, and I'm in the ensemble, and I'm hoping to do The Mikado or Parade next semester. Les Mis is my first musical ever (and pretty much my first bit of theatre experience), and it's a fantastic company, so I'm pretty excited about doing it ~Julia

Here are the shows I have appeared in, in chronological order:
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Chorus) Murder at the Music Hall (Waitress, Chorus) (Do NOT do this show - it's terrible) Annie Get Your Gun (Chorus) The Zoo and The Sorcerer (double bill) (Chorus in The Zoo, Constance in The Sorcerer) Fiddler on the Roof (Chorus; Chava understudy [performed the role in the matinees]) The Pirates of Penzance (Chorus; Edith understudy) An Evening with Gilbert and Sullivan (concert) (Soloist and Chorus) A Stroll Towards Christmas on Broadway (concert) (Soloist and Chorus) One Enchanted Evening (concert) (Chorus) Iolanthe (Iolanthe) Oliver! (Mrs Bedwin, Chorus) The Gondoliers (Tessa)
I'm currently rehearsing The Music Man, in which I'm in the chorus and understudying Mrs. Squires - I think I'll be performing the role in 3 performances.
My next show will probably be The Mikado, in which I'd love to play Pitti-Sing, followed by Kismet in the first half of next year and then Ruddigore in the second half.
As well as performing, I've worked in various other capacities, including costumes, program, and lighting, on shows including Oklahoma!, Godspell and The King and I.

Wow, you guys are all theatre buffs, I feel like such a looser. Well, here is my list. Big - Chorus Annie- Chorus Dinkum Assorted: Glad Dinkum is an Australian musical, that was heaps of fun. Annie, annie was not fun...sorry if anyone here likes it! Most of the kids they cast couldn't sing at all, period, which of course is perfect for Annie.

And by the way Julia, that's quite an accomplishment, getting into Les Miserables. From looking at the website it seems quite professional, for a semi-professional production. One of my friends who is doing musical theatre at WAPPA, (Western Australian Performing Academy) which is possibly THE hardest course to get into, and he only got cast as one of the students in the production we had here a couple of years ago. He had a solo and everything, but even so...I think he wanted to be Marius. So anyway, the point of this is...[glow=red,2,300]well done![/glow] Yes, I did just want to use glow there. ;D

I did a few school productions, which we're not going to talk about since they're not worth mentioning.. My last show (Sweet Charity) was my first, I'm currently rehearsing Hello, Dolly! With prettier costumes than Julia's. *g*

Hehehe, well unless you are a guy, or Cosette...I don't think Les Mis has much appeal costumes wise. Still, rags are better than Lycra....or 80's looking outfits. At least with rags you are so dirty you don't look stupid, I can sympathise, I was a Hooverillite in Annie, which basically meant dressing like a bum. I looked great...really!

Hi guys, I'm new to these boards. Talissa pointed me here from the musicals.net site Nice to see a dedicated Aus musicals site. Welcome! I go by Buff Daddy on musicals.net, but just go by Buff here. There's not quite the same volume of traffic here, but there's more quality. Plus it has a lot more information about Australian theatre. But be warned, our moderator is a dictator That's a pretty impressive list of shows and roles. I've just added one to mine - "My Fair Lady" - orchestra ;D Buff
