Hey Alana, Welcome! But hey, join up. (Or if you have, sign on), It's not supposed to be possible to post as a guest and Julia will surely be fixing that bug any time now. So stand up and be counted. No really, you don't want to be a Backyard Balladeer forever, whatever that means. James

Actually, I've deliberately left guest posting open in the Miscellaneous and Administration forums, for the sake of anyone who has log-in problems who finds emailing me too much hassle. But definitely join up, or else you won't be able to post in very many places. Welcome, though

Hello Everyone ;D I'm new to this forum. Thanks heaps to Buff for letting me know it existed. (On the International Anthony Warlow Fan Association site) My Nic is MuLo - short for Music Lover I am registered with a few on-line forums, but am most active in The Ten Tenors forum. You will find I am very vocal about my Ten Tenors - they deserve a lot of respect and all the promotion they can get! I am a huuuuuge Anthony Warlow fan. Can't get enough of him. I am very excited about the opportunity to meet up with some other Anthony Warlow fans, as well as all music lovers out there. I live in FNQ, but a few times each year I fly interstate to attend the theatre. We are pretty lucky up here, I can go to Cairns to see shows, but once a year I fly to Sydney to meet a friend for a night at the Sydney Opera House. This year it's HMS Pinafore and Trial By Jury. I am from Perth originally, and we never got to see the good shows - one of the reasons I headed east. I am devestated at missing out on so many Anthony Warlow shows - Annie, The Secret Garden, Jekyll & Hyde, Man of La Mancha, Phantom - and so many others - just because it costs so much to fly east form Perth. Now that I live on the east coast, I am making up for lost time. Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself. I look forward to a lot of interaction on this forum. Seeya MuLo

Sadly, no. The only performing I do is in my car at the top of my lungs.
No, unfortunately, as much as I love the theatre experience, here is one person that can't even keep a beat.
I have recently applied to volunteer with the Cairns Choral Society, they do two performances a year. They are doing Jekyll & Hyde in January. I have been to their past 2 performances, and have tickets for Grease in October, and they are all of a very high quality.
I hope they can use me somehow. I really enjoy the theatre, but being on stage is not my thing. I would much rather be behind the scenes. I'd love to learn how the lighting all works, I am very intrigued by theatrical lighting.
Anyway, that's my story!

My wife is the same – she would never go on stage, but loves helping backstage with dressing and costume alterations. In my experience, most theatre groups are always looking for people to work backstage. Let them know you’re particularly interested in lighting. All shows need good lighting – otherwise the actors would be on stage in the dark Buff

Welcome to the board, MuLo! And if everyone was a performer, theatre would just fall apart. After all, we need the techs to make us look and sound good! Julia

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone.
I am not a tech - just a wannabe!!
In fact, I think I am already the single most important person in the theatre industry - I'm the bum on the seat - preferably the FRONT seat!
I like to be in the audience, right up the front where the show is at it's most intimate, and disappear into a world of fantasy. A world where I don't exist but my dreams do.
That's the theatre.

Hey MuLo, Good to have another dedicated theatre watcher around. I too have vowed to become more involved. Alas, working at night makes it difficult. You like to sit in the front seat I've had enough of it lately. I like to be able to see faces but you lose the panorama. I've been sitting in the front row or second row all year, with two more cases of that to come. Next year I'll be more organized. Stick around so I'm not the only one saying "say what?" at all the performer references. James
