G'day James
I reckon anywhere in the first 8-10 rows is perfect. I'm in the 5th row at the Opera House in November for HMS Pinafore - those seats will be spectacular.
Don't worry about me sticking around, I certainly will be. You and I can "say what?" together.
It's so nice to find a forum where I can share my love of theatre with others, rather than a forum full of prepubescents who can't decide which performer is "better looking" or has the best hairstyle!!
See you on the boards Cheers MuLo

Audience? What's that? I haven't seen one in ages Just kidding. And thank you, MuLo. That is rather what I was hoping for when I made the board. I don't know about you, but I find far too many boards are like that, and it just scares sensible people away. Glad you like Wayakka, though ~Julia

[HI just wondered if people knew about Dean Bryant and Mat Franks musical trilogy 'Virgin Wars' coming up in Jan at the Malt House. Sounds like an awesome cast: Kelly Road, Esther Hannifed, Amanda Levy, Verity Hunt-Ballard and Rosie Harris. What a cast! I think it's playing at the Malt House from late Jan to middle of Feb.

I hadn't heard about that, Lynn. Thanks for the heads-up. It should be fun. Verity and Rosie are lovely, and it seems a fun show, from what we saw at All Roads Lead to Home in last year's Melbourne Arts Festival. I'll have to keep an ear out for any more info. It's a surprise, though. I thought Verity had other plans for January. Welcome to the board

rather than a forum full of prepubescents who can't decide which performer is "better looking" or has the best hairstyle!! Yeah, we decide that stuff really quickly. We decided on Tamsin Carrol in Dusty for the best hairstyle, didn't we? ;D James

Hello everyone,
I'm Jem and I'm brand new here and not quite sure of what I need to say in my intro so just bear with me!
I love musicals and have done since I was just a littley. Once I've finished my Arts course (grumble) I hope to study Stage Management and get into theatre professionally.
Sadly I have no voice and am a horrible dancer so I don't perform but, as I said before, I do love musicals and will help out where ever I can backstage (except with Sound.).
I look forward to getting to know you all!
- Jem

Sadly I have no voice and am a horrible dancer so I don't perform Me either. Though I hope you don't let that stop you from alienating your friends and family in the car, in the shower, at the kitchen table, etc, etc, etc. Good to have you here James

Hi Jem
Welcome to the world of non-performers!! I am also a theatre loving, musical singing, song butchering non-performer - but only me and my car stereo know that!
Good luck with your theatre ambitions, the only requirement to be successful in theatre production is enthusiasm and you certainly seem to have it.
I have recently become involved with the Cairns Choral Society (I have only lived in the region for two years) and am very excited about our new show "Jekyll and Hyde", it's going to be sensational! Cairns has the most amazing talent pool, I'm in for the time of my life.
See you on the boards Cheers MuLo

Jackjackjack- re: Alienating family- Of course I do! My friends think I'm mad but my family are now de-sensitized and I've managed to convert my sister (who is, actually, obsessed with Into the Woods at the moment and thanks to your username I now have "Jack, Jack, Jack, head in a sack!" running through my head on loop!).
MuLo- Oh if only I was in Cairns I'd come and see it! Have you heard the Anthony Warlow version? He's bloody fantastic! Okay, just posted that and then saw your icon. Clearly you understand what I'm talking about ;D

If your sis likes Into the Woods, get her to check out my website: www.freewebs.com/in2woodsJames P.S. I hope you've got the whole song stuck in your head. Just that line would get rather monotonous.

Clearly you understand what I'm talking about ;D Oh, I completely understand what you're talking about! No one will ever perform the role as well as Anthony and I will be forever biased, but Cairns Tenors Michael Newman and Chris George, who are sharing the role, are certainly doing an excellent job. They come a close second to Anthony! Let's be honest, they're pretty amazing shoes to fill! Cheers MuLo

Welcome! Hope you: 1. get your big break! 2. enjoy posting here. What shows/roles have you auditioned for? What kind of process did you have to go through? This might not be the best thread to answer in depth, so feel free to start a new thread and blame me! Buff
