no worries:) I will answer here and then if it does expand we can start a new thread:)
I have only had a few auditions as I haven't been here too long but here is what happened at some:
Guys & Dolls - open call - 170 girls turned up for 2 spots - was like A Chorus Line lol, was a dance call first, you registered, waited for you turn, went in with a group and learnt part of the 'Havanna' number then just did it a few times, were broken down into groups, then smaller ones etc... until they chose who they wanted for a call back
Rat Pack - private call, altho for a singer role they still had a dance call first which was strange - same process but less people
Production Vocalist for Pavillion - private vocal call - was told how to dress, had to bring 2 music theatre pieces - one uptempo, one ballad, went in and sang both. No feedback given, just 'thank you' or some girls who didn't have the right style song were asked to sing 'somewhere over the rainbow'. (i am still waiting to hear back about this one)
Bodywork - private vocal call - asked to bring 2 contrasting songs, but only sing one. were then asked vocal range/belt range, some girls asked to do scales, then from there was a dance recall. dance recall - learnt a short routine then performed in small groups, very quick (still waiting to hear).
Agency Showcase - Had to prepare 2 contrasting songs and select a scene from any play. Sang part of the 2 songs then workshopped the scene with someone, then were given other scenes to workshop - I got this one, perform in late feb, doing 1 song, 2 scenes and 2 group numbers
Snow White touring Panto - private call - was given character breakdown and askedto sing an uptempo song. Call backs - sing song again and impro/workshop character scenes - got this job but turned it down as came back to oz over xmas
Mad About Musicals UK Tour - sing 2 songs - music theatre contrasting and prepare a third song. call back more singing and dance/movement combination
Cruise Ships - they will state vocal style - sing one song, will ask to hear another if they want - some want 2 some just one, then (in the case of jean ann ryan) asked whether dancer/mover, asked to do pirouette, photo taken, then a dance recall - learn a short combination which is filmed then wait to hear, Disney run their auditions very similar as well.
They are all pretty similar i can also tell you about other ones like CATS, Mamma Mia, Avenue Q, Les Mis (that as heaps of stages and workshops) etc.. which i haven't done (yet - hopefully) but have been told what the audition process is! Hope this helps:) It's now going into the time when shows are recontracting so hopefully I will be getting some more soon. Oh i am also shortlisted to present a show on digital tv - which they have cast completely on cv/look etc.. at the moment then they will do a screen test at a later date.
